Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and Iron Mind Studios ("we", "us") for using the SayHo app. By downloading or using SayHo, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use SayHo on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not sell, rent, sublicense, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.

2. Your account

You can use SayHo without an account, or sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use SayHo.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings inside the app. Deletion is permanent.

3. Subscriptions

SayHo Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, offered as a monthly or yearly plan. Both currently include a 3-day free trial for new subscribers.

• The price and billing period are shown in the app before you confirm, and vary by region and currency.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• Your subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• If you have a free trial, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies, not by us. Some features are also available through in-app points earned by using the app; points have no cash value, cannot be bought or exchanged for money, and are not transferable.

4. User content and community rules

SayHo lets you share a vocabulary deck with another person by giving them an eight-character code. Shared decks are private by design: they are never listed, searchable, or browsable, and can only be opened by someone who has the exact code.

You keep ownership of the vocabulary you create. By sharing a deck, you grant us the limited right to store and transmit it so that people you give the code to can receive it. You confirm that you have the right to share whatever you put in a deck.

You must not create, share, or upload content that:

• is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, threatening, or hateful;
• is sexually explicit, or depicts or promotes violence;
• infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, or other rights;
• contains someone else's personal information without their consent;
• contains spam, malware, or links intended to deceive.

Inside the app you can:

• Preview a deck before importing it, so you see its contents before it reaches your library;
• Report a deck you find objectionable;
• Block the person who made it, which stops their codes from opening on your device;
• Stop sharing a deck you published, which disables its code for everyone.

We may remove content and terminate accounts that breach these rules, without notice where the breach is serious.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use SayHo to break the law, to interfere with the service or its security, to access other people's accounts, to scrape or bulk-download content, or to build a competing product from our data.

6. Third-party content

SayHo plays videos through YouTube's official embedded player. That content belongs to its owners, not to us, and your use of it is also subject to YouTube's Terms of Service. We do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for third-party content, and it may change or become unavailable at any time.

7. Learning content is generated automatically

Translations, meanings, grammar explanations, example sentences and pronunciation scores are produced automatically, partly using AI. They can be wrong. SayHo is a learning aid, not a substitute for a teacher, a dictionary, or professional advice. Please do not rely on it where accuracy really matters.

8. Availability

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of SayHo. We try to avoid disruption, but we do not promise the service will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.

9. Disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SayHo is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data or lost profits. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for SayHo or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for SayHo. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

11. Termination

You may stop using SayHo at any time and delete your account from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, disclaimers, and liability — will survive.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app. Continuing to use SayHo after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. This does not remove any consumer protection rights you have under the law of the country where you live.
